Magenta is an Imaginary Color, and is the Only Color That Can't Be Blue Based.

Did you know that the only colors the cones and rods in your eye can actually see is red, green, and blue?! Crazy right???

The other colors we see are essentially imaginary. Our mind imagines other colors by being able to see red, green, and blue.

Magenta is one of these imaginary colors, and is actually the only color that can not be yellow based. The blue and yellow based colors created by Bob Dorr show a gap for the color in each wheel that is impossible to create. In the yellow based wheel, this gap is magenta, and in the blue based wheel, this gap is orange.
